Struts? You mean cars have a fancy gait??

Don't ask me how I stumbled across this video, but if you are a fan of The Little Mermaid you should check it out.  I think my favorite (aka, the funniest) is the German version.  You just really can't pretty-fy that language.

My car is semi-broken right now and it's bumming me out.  Last Tuesday I got to the garage after work and it started up just fine but wouldn't move out of park.  After calling the Ford dealer my dad found out about some little trick to unpop it so I could drive it, but unpopping it means that you are driving sans brake lights.  And hello, that's illegal!

Luckily for me the mechanic I use is the boyfriend of my ex-step mom (it's complicated, don't worry) so they've been extremely helpful.  They've been looking at my car everyday while I'm at work, and the ex-step mom has been driving me to and from work.  Most people don't have a mechanic who will do that for them.  It should be fixed tomorrow, with fingers crossed, but it's not going to be the end of my car problems because...

There Will Be Car Payments.

That's right, I think it's finally time that I suck it up and decommission my 11 year old junker in favor of a mostly functioning vehicle.  One that won't need repairs every few months.  One with heat that comes out with more force than that of the little elf that must be living in my dashboard.  And, sigh, one that requires a car payment.

I know this is a fact of life for most adults, but I've been lucky enough to avoid it up to this point and I guess I was hoping my luck would possibly run for the next 30 years or so.  Four or five years just sounds like an eternity when you are paying so much money for something that loses value every day you use it.  But on the bright side, it will be really, really nice to drive a car that doesn't sound like its backside is going to fall right off every time I roll over speed bump

Don't call me Public Snort!

I totally can't help the fact that sometimes, when I'm laughing really hard, I tend to snort.  And DANNY, my FIANCE, has taken to calling me "Public Snort".

Dude, I can't help it!

Tonight we went to Sub Zero in the Central West End to try their sushi, and I completely forgot that the reason they are called "Sub Zero" is because of their ice bar.  Oh well, I guess we'll have to check it out next time.  And there WILL be a next time because their sushi was awesome.  Man, the spicy tuna roll was incredible.  It was spicy, but at the same time the tuna had this smoky flavor that I've never experienced with sushi.  It made for a tasty combo of flavors and I'll be sure to go back.

Oh, and whatever you do, do NOT get the deep fried Philly roll from Miso.  Unless you like fishy corndogs, then I guess it's alright.

Tonight I rented a stupid movie.  I suppose it wouldn't seem stupid if I were 10 years old, but for someone 16 years older, Ballet Shoes was probably not my best Red Box choice.  The thing is, after spending the weekend with my fiance, I sometimes get the yearning to watch stupid girly/kid movies.  It made me wonder, when am I going to have the time for those things when we live together?  I guess I can always retreat to another room to watch chick flicks by myself, or make him suffer through them with me, but it will never be the same as sitting in the privacy of my own living room, Ped Egg-ing my feet to hearts content, all while zoning out to a good romcom.  Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to live with him and I'm quite aware that married folks have been sharing the same living space for years, but tonight I realized how my single-living days are numbered.

Another stupid thing I'm doing tonight is watching the Grammy's.  There's just something really strange about a collaboration between Stevie Wonder and the Jonas Brothers.  Oh, is it The Jonas Brothers?  Whatev.  If I come away with one thing tonight though, it's that a duo of Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift will always leave Miley Cyrus looking like a fool.  I can't figure out it it's more painful to listen to her sing, or talk.

WHAT?!  Ok, as I type, Blink-182 are announcing that they are back together!  Ok, maybe that's the most important thing I've learned tonight.  Not quite sure how to feel about that.  I thought they all got pissy with each other a while back.  It makes me wonder if they are doing this because they truly miss playing together, or if they truly miss making money together.

Enough Grammy re-cap... it's Sunday night and I have a sinkful of dishes and clean clothes that need putting away.  Ah, the exciting life I lead.
